Print Share Details Spain’s National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE), in collaboration with the Spanish State Company for Management of Tourism Innovation and Technologies (SEGITTUR), has organized a workshop entitled “Cybersecurity and Tourism: a Need or a Priority?”. The purpose of this event is to analyze the impact that technology is having on the tourism industry, and the risk inherent to the use of large quantities of personal and financial data related to tourists. Cybersecurity in the tourism industry must be seen as an essential need, to ensure that all of this data can be protected and tourists will continue to experience feelings of trust. Joan Antoni Malonda, GMV’s Tourism Business Developer, has been invited to participate in this workshop, and he will be sharing his experience and perspectives during the panel discussion entitled “Cybersecurity as a competitive strategy for tourism”, along with Xavier Pascuet, Tourism Director for the Municipality of Calvià; Juanjo Fuster, CEO/CISO at INTEC Cybersecurity (SOC); Iván Gutiérrez of the Tecnalia Cybersecurity Research Group; and Dolores Ordóñez, Vice-President of Turistec.
