Using the SWOT methodology (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats), IIE’s Space Committee has conducted a study designed to take stock of Spain’s current space sector and its industrial and scientific ranking on the world scene, then drawing some conclusions and making some recommendations. The main recommendations were to promote a Space Law and set up a Spanish Space Agency. The event will be divided into two panels: the first dealing with strengths, opportunities and recommendations and the second with weaknesses, threats and recommendations. The event aims to crosscheck IIE Space Committee’s analysis against representatives from other stakeholder groups and update the document’s contents and conditions. Proposals will be made to improve the current and future space situation in Spain in the new context of the creation of a future Spanish Space Agency. Jorge Potti, GMV’s General Space Manager, will be taking part in the first discussion panel "Spain: Strengths, Opportunities and Recommendations".
