Technology companies like GMV require specialized and up-to-date knowledge of the most advanced technologies, which is why it collaborates with various initiatives that aim to narrow the gap between academia and the professional world and promote training that allow different groups to find their place in today’s and tomorrow’s labor market. With the aim of fostering young, stable and quality employment, GMV has recently joined “Tu Carrera Digital” (Your Digital Career) program, a training initiative launched by Adecco that intends to train more than 3,600 young people aged 16 to 30 in digital skills. Driven by Red.es as part of the training program for youth employment in the digital economy, this will be one of the largest training and employability projects for young people in the coming years. The aim is to train young residents across Spain in digital and innovative occupations, in order to meet the high demand for digital profiles made by companies such as GMV. Under this initiative, free training activities will be carried out to help young people acquire and hone ICT skills in various fields, namely video game programming, 3D design and virtual reality, full-stack web programming, cybersecurity, cloud systems, big data, and digital marketing. According to Ignacio Ramos, People Strategy and Infrastructures Manager at GMV, “this opportunity is not only for those who have to make decisions now about their training, but also for people who can refocus their career towards high-employment sectors. Training in digital skills is a great opportunity and a stepping stone to careers with a future.” As one of the program’s collaborating companies, GMV has been involved in identifying the current needs of both the labor market and professionals in order to design the initiative’s training plan and programming. Drawing on its experience with similar initiatives, GMV has contributed its knowledge to the plan’s design, with the aim of increasing the skills, competencies, and qualifications of the young people who enroll in the program. On completion of the training program, GMV will look to recruit any profiles that fit its needs.
