GMV has pulled off two far-reaching sales of its intraoperative radiation therapy planner Intraplan radiance in Saudi Arabia, the King Fahad Specialist Hospital in Dammam and the King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh.

Damman’s Radiation Oncology department was already equipped with two linear accelerators, a simulator, a CT-Simulator and a treatment planning system. Riyadh’s 1095-bed King Fahd Medical City, for its part, is considered to be one of the Middle East’s largest and most advanced healthcare facilities, now treating 50,000 inpatients and 600,000 outpatients a year.

The takeup of radiance, to work alongside the mobile accelerators, will make these two hospitals the best equipped in the whole area, boasting today’s most advanced oncology techniques and catering for procedures such as intraoperative radiotherapy, whose advantages are now vouched for by top-level scientific studies.

This takeup reflects the importance being given by Saudi leaders to providing cutting-edge, results-endorsed technology to add to its therapy service.

This is without doubt an epoch-making event for GMV as it breaks into one of the Middle East’s quickest growing healthcare markets, especially in the field of intraoperative radiotherapy.

It has also been a great satisfaction for GMV to have received such a warm welcome by these two important clients. Without doubt the experience and success built up over recent years has shown the great maturity of the radiance product.
