Robolid 0

About this time every year Castilla y León’s most important robotics and electronics show comes around. The sixth Robolid competition, backed by Valladolid University’s Microbiotics Association (AMUVa in Spanish initials) was held from Monday 16 April to Friday 20 April.

The chats, workshops and exhibitions of this event can be attended either as a spectator or a competitor, taking on the AMUVa Challenge or vying with other players in various categories such as the Sumo challenge or the “Rastreadores” competition, which challenges a small robot to track a set, sinuous route.

GMV supports this initiative, which sets out to give the public at large and especially youngsters a much better idea of a discipline that is really coming into its own in today’s society. This competition also offers the chance of classifying for other competitions such as the All Japan Robot-Sumo Tournament or Romania’s RoboChallenge.

AMUVa was born in Valladolid University in 2002. This microbiotics association is the driving force not only behind this event but also other tournaments like Cosmobot, JET Terassa and Hispabot. It also organizes workshops geared towards various levels of robotics knowledge plus programming courses.
