After successfully passing this important milestone, GMV has initiated the development phase. EUMETSAT and ESA Sentinel-3 mission management has also decided to nominate GMV as HW supplier of the Mission Planning system. The GMES Sentinel-3 Mission Planning Facility is a Delta development based on the EPS Mission Planning Facility, also developed by GMV, which has been operational at EUMETSAT since 2006. The pair of Sentinel-3 satellites will routinely monitor ocean and land surfaces to generate valuable information for the European Union (EU) and its Member States as part of the Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) program.
