The aim of this conference was to present both to harbor authorities and ShipLocus®-users a new module recently brought onstream for the statistical mining of maritime traffic data stored in the AIS database, facilitating its subsequent analysis for drawing up reports. The coastal AIS base stations deployed by GMV are able to receive, process and distribute the ship tracking information transmitted through its AIS terminals under the requirements laid down by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). ShipLocus® covers the needs of harbor authorities and port operators in different areas and services. It enables ships to be tracked and monitored in real time and streamlines port planning. It also helps in the integration of intermodal transport, the management of ship stopovers, the running of marinas and the monitoring and control of navigation aids. These tools are a real boon for ports, both for planning and operation purposes, and are habitually used in control centers, operation services or navigation aid departments.
