Jorge Potti, GMV’s Director of Space will be giving the lecture: “Rosetta and its 10-year journey through the solar system: a cosmic game of billiards. The European Space Agency’s Rosetta probe was launched on 2 March 2004. After a 10-year, 6.4-billion-kilometer journey through the solar system, it finally reached its target, the comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, on 6 August 2014, thus becoming the first ever spacecraft to rendezvous with a comet and go into orbit around it. The conference aims to give information on the current state of the Rosetta mission and the scientific results obtained to date, stressing the mission’s scientific and technological contribution.
