1st Digital-Economy Encounter

Organized by the employers association for ICT firms AMETIC, the 1st Digital-Economy Encounter (I Encuentro de la Economía Digital) is designed to round out the Telecommunications Encounter held annually in Santander, acknowledged to be Spain’s flagship telecommunications event.

This encounter will bring together Spain’s most important ICT firms, including GMV itself plus Accenture, Altran, Arsys, BBVA, Ericsson, Everis, Google, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Indra, La Caixa, PwC, Sisteplant, Tecnocom, Telefónica and Zed, ahead of the digital transformation now occurring across the board in all sectors.

"Nowadays there is no longer any doubt about the growth-driving effects of any country’s investments in the digital economy", argues José Manuel de Riva, AMETIC’s president. "This is no longer just an option; it is crucial if governments are to get the best out of the digital economy in both the public and private sector and pass on the benefits to the public at large in the form of progress and wealth".

GMV, a company playing a key role in this digital transformation, will be inputting the digital client’s point of view. In particular Luis Fernando Álvarez-Gascón, General Manager of GMV Secure e-Solutions, will be pointing out the advantages of this digital change.
