Copernicus Workshop
On 28 November, as part of the activities to raise awareness of Copernicus products and services, GMV is taking part in the workshop: “Copernicus for Green Growth and Smart City development”.
The workshop is being organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fishery, Food and the Environment (MAPAMA) in collaboration with the Spanish Copernicus User Forum, the Spanish Meteorological Office (AEMET), the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and the Digital Agenda, the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) and the European Consortium led by German Aerospace Center (DLR) together with the Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU).
The workshop, to be held in the Official College of Architects in Madrid, aims to encourage use of Copernicus atmosphere-monitoring products by the environmental community and Spanish urban-sustainability managers.
This represents a unique chance for the public and private sector involved in green growth and smart city development to interact and liaise with other experienced Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Services (CAMS) users. In the section dealing with the benefits of Copernicus for industrial users, Julia Yagüe, head of GMV’s Copernicus Services, will be presenting Urban GreenUp, an H2020 project that aims to develop a European strategy for re-naturing cities through Nature-Based Solutions.
