LIGNA
From 27 to 31 May 2019 the latest Ligna Conference will be presenting in Hannover the complete range of the highly innovating woodworking and timber-processing sector. Under the banner “Making more out of Wood” the show will be featuring the latest inspection systems and the new intelligent technology applicable to the wood industry.
GMV will be running the stand # H28/7, showcasing its inhouse breakthroughs and applications, offering personalized demos and fielding any questions from stand visitors.
One of the key projects to be presented by GMV will be MySustainableForest, one of Europe’s most ambitious projects working towards a new forestry future. Carried out by a GMV-led consortium, it applies earth-observation tools and technology to forestry in order to encourage a more sustainable use. Evaluating biomass, mapping timber quality, developing a climate-change strategy and pinpointing vulnerabilities are, among others, the applications to be developed during the course of this research project.
On Thursday 30 May GMV’s Earth Observation Engineer, Elsa Carla de Grandi, will be giving a chat under the title “Satellite data for forest damage assessment” as part of the session “Protection of precious natural resources against biotic and abiotic damage”.
