ConnectAmericas: the first online platform helping SMEs to internationalize their business

GMV has set up “ConnectAmericas” for the Inter-American Development Bank. ConnectAmericas is the first online platform to incorporate the latest social-network and communication technology to help SMEs internationalize their business, winning new clients, suppliers and investors from around the world.

GMV was the chosen firm to carry out the technological part of this fascinating project, which provides SMEs with a single, user-friendly portal offering all the necessary information and learning tools for carrying out international trade transactions with different countries of the world.

The platform offers three services called “Connect”, “Learn” and “Finance.”

“Connect” allows registered users to post their company profiles and find the right clients, suppliers and investors for their particular business, quickly and easily.
In “Learn” the portal offers useful company-internationalization information, ranging from online courses to priceless databases on the rules of trade in countries from the region and around the world. There is also a panel of experts to clear up users’ doubts.

Lastly, the “Finance” service of ConnectAmericas provides users with a single window of financial products and services, offered not only by the Inter-American Development Bank but also dozens of commercial banks from Latin America and the Caribbean. It also gives information on investors interested in investing in the region and details of funding eligibility.

With the collaboration of GMV, a hugely experienced firm in setting up projects of this type, and drawing on all the latest technology, ConnectAmericas helps SMEs to internationalize their business, saving them both time and money.
