SSAWS
GMV is sponsoring and taking part in the new Space Situational Awareness & Space Traffic Management (SSAWS) workshop, with the theme Growing Concerns on Space Environment. Organized by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Astronautical Society of India (ASI), the conference will take place at the Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel in India from 11 to 13 January.
Space situational awareness is essential for continued safe and sustainable operations in earth’s increasingly busy outer space environment.
India’s space object detection, tracking, and monitoring capabilities are currently limited and must therefore be enhanced to meet future requirements. The present space age is also characterized by the contribution of private space industries to innovation and technology development.
Acknowledging that many of the world’s private stakeholders have demonstrated reliable space object detection and tracking capabilities and offer commercial SSA services, an industry meeting is set to take place during the event. The meeting will provide a rare networking platform for Indian industries and start-ups to interact with foreign OEMs and industries providing SSA and STM services, as well as exploring future avenues of collaboration to develop local capabilities to offer space object tracking and monitoring services.
GMV will present a paper entitled Growth of the SST and STM Industrial Landscape: the GMV Case.
