ESA/JRC International Summer School on GNSS

GMV is sponsoring the 14th ESA/JRC International Summer School on GNSS, a program organized by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Joint Research Centre (JRC), to take place in Kiruna, northern Sweden, from 17 to 28 July.

The program aims to provide participants with a comprehensive overview of satellite navigation, starting with global satellite navigation systems (GNSS), the signals they involve, and data processing in receivers, and ending with positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) solutions. There will be several laboratory activities to give participants a real “hands-on” experience, as well as presentations on intellectual property rights, patents, and business issues. The program will also address the future of satellite systems. The focus will be on carrying out a group project using innovative ideas and covering all aspects of entrepreneurship, from concept, business plan, and technical implementation, to marketing the product or service.

Scientists and experts from around the world will give lectures and lead practical exercises and laboratory work. The program is open to postgraduate students (with an undergraduate degree), PhD students, early-stage researchers, and young professionals interested in broadening their knowledge.

Victor Pozo, Head of GMV’s Satellite Navigation Systems Ground Control Segment, will give a presentation entitled “Navigation Landscape Empowered by GMV.”
