The conference will be moderated by the vice-president of ANIS, Coral Larrosa, and attended by leading professionals from the healthcare and technology worlds. Dr. Pedro Lara will explain what intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT) is, its advantages and implementation in Europe and Spain. Dr. Ferrán Guedea will speak on the commitment to cancer treatment at the Institute of Oncology of Catalonia and the Hospital Universitari Dexues and will explain the effectiveness of IORT in breast, colon, and brain cancers, among others. Miguel Ángel Infante will discuss the work of hospital radiology physicists and what the technology means in this type of treatment. Carlos Illana will focus on the contribution of IORT to the sustainability of the National Health System. Last, Dr. Gerard Plans will explain why he decided to use IORT and the advantages of planning in its application.
