The group, made up of nine girls aged 13 to 15, presented the project that earned them third place at the FLL nation final and, as a result, their pass to the international open that will be held soon in Brazil. The project consists of a sustainable lighting system for road signs with the goal of reducing accidents and casualties due to the lack of lighting on roads. This initiative consists of implementing piezoelectric micro-generators under the asphalt, overcoming the limitations of solar panels, in order to power illuminated signs, reflectors, and tunnel interiors. The team also demonstrated the capabilities of the robot with which they are also competing in the 16th edition of the FLL. During their visit, in addition to touring the facilities, the students had the chance to talk with different women in the company to share their professional experience working at GMV and the projects and activities in which they participate. The OASIS team, with the support of GMV, will take part in the international Open of the FIRST® LEGO® LEAGUE that will take place on August 5-7, in Río de Janeiro, Brazil. OASIS was also one of the four Spanish teams at the FLL national final nominated among the innovation projects submitted worldwide as representatives for the Global Innovation Award.
