Women Building the Future

“Why do you want to be an engineer?”, “How can we help families accept our engineering career choices?” or “How can technology narrow the gap between men and women?”. These were some of the questions addressed by the young women present at the Science Coffee “Women Building the Future”. Promoted by Ciência Viva and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education, the event was held on 8 March in the Pavilhão do Conhecimento during the Women’s Day celebrations. Teresa Ferreira, Director of Space at GMV in Portugal was invited to join a discussion panel about the participation of women in science, engineering, technology and mathematics (STEM) careers.
