One-day conference: Space prospects in Spain

On 21 February Madrid’s Professional Association of Lawyers (Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Madrid: ICAM) is putting on a conference called “Perspectivas del sector espacial en España: una visión de conjunto” (Space prospects in Spain: an overall view).

The opening address will be given by Elisa González Ferreiro and Carlos Villacorta, presidents of ICAM’s Space- and Aeronautics-Law Section. Three papers will then take stock of the space sector’s current situation and future prospects.

Jorge Potti, General Manager of GMV’s space sector and Vice President of the Space Committee of the Spanish Association of Space, Aeronautics and Defense Technology Companies (Asociación Española de Empresas Tecnológicas de Defensa, Aeronáutica y Espacio: TEDAE) will be presenting the paper “The present and future of Spain’s space industry”.

The other two papers will be given by General Carlos de Salas, Head of the Space and C4ISR Area of the Directorate General of Armaments and Material (Dirección General de Armamento y Material) of the Spanish MoD, who will be explaining the current “Space Systems Master Plan”; and by Juan Carlos Cortés, Manager of Space, Major Facilities and Dual Programs of the Industrial Technology Development Center (Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico e Industrial: CDTI), who will be speaking about “Space Challenges in Spain”.

Attendance is free on a first-come, first-served basis.
