Luis Fernando Álvarez-Gascón
Secure e-Solutions General Manager
Luis Fernando Álvarez-Gascón is a senior aeronautical engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (1987), and he completed postgraduate studies in Business Administration at the Instituto de Empresa (Executive MBA) and at IESE (PDG).
He joined GMV in 1986, working as a project engineer and project manager, conducting technical activities in areas such as systems engineering, systems simulation and satellite navigation. Later, he reoriented his career toward the sales and marketing area, increasing his responsibilities until he was appointed GMV Strategic Marketing Manager. In 2001, he became the GMV Secure e-Solutions General Manager, leading the secure solutions business internationally for large telecommunications companies, banks and insurance companies, public administrations, healthcare, industry and other sectors.
Extremely active in professional associations, he is currently the vice-chair of the Foro de Empresas Innovadoras (Innovative Companies Forum), and has served as the vice-chair of AMETIC (the Association of Electronics, Information Technology, Telecommunications and Digital Content Companies) and the vice-chair of the CEOE employer organization’s R&D&I Committee, chair of the Spanish chapter of the Information Systems Governance European Club, member of HITEC Spain, secretary of Proespacio (Spanish Association of Space Industries), and a member of the Executive Committee of the Defense and Security Technologies Circle. He was also a member of the Spanish Research Agency’s Scientific and Technical Committee.
