3rd HealthTech Observer Conference: “Artificial intelligence applied to diagnostic radiology”

GMV is set to host its 3rd HealthTech Observer Conference on 13 May at the Hospital Universitario La Paz in Madrid. The theme of this year’s event is “Artificial intelligence applied to diagnostic radiology”.

Fátima Matute, Minister of Health for the Community of Madrid, will open the event, which will explore the potential of AI technology in the production of high-quality medical ultrasound images for diagnostic purposes. This development is the result of research carried out as part of the Alisse project, led clinically by the Emergency Radiology Service of Hospital La Paz and technologically by GMV, in partnership with the Nuclear Physics Group of the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM).

Carried out on behalf of the European Space Agency to monitor astronauts’ health during space missions, the results of this project offer exciting new prospects. For example, this technology holds potential for use in primary care centers, enabling non-specialist healthcare providers to perform initial medical imaging tests and avoid the need to refer patients to external radiology services. As well as helping health centers to optimize their resources, this type of innovation can have a positive impact on patients, speeding up the diagnosis process and sparing them from having to travel or face delays in starting treatment.

The conference will feature speakers from the European Space Agency, the Spanish Space Agency, Hospital La Paz, GMV, and the Spanish Society of Health Informatics. The Hospital La Paz Institute for Health Research (IdiPAZ) and the Association of Health Informers (ANIS) will also participate in the event.
