EUSPA has awarded GMV a new framework contract to support the evolution of the Galileo Reference Centre (GRC)
The new V2 version will incorporate several new features, including real-time monitoring and the ability to monitor new Galileo system services
The company has been awarded a new contract for the development, deployment, support to commissioning and optionally maintenance of a new version of the data generator for the Galileo High Accuracy Service (HAS) by EUSPA.
Galileo is the first global satellite navigation system to offer free real-time high accuracy positioning corrections to all users.
The new version of the data generator will enhance performance both globally and regionally in Europe and increase user security and confidence in the service through a new authentication feature.
These new services of the Galileo system will make it possible to send alert messages directly to the population's cell phones in disaster situations, even when mobile networks or other terrestrial systems are not available as of 2026
The alert messages will include information on the type of hazard, its severity, time of onset, expected duration, and the area affected
The new services will complement existing warning systems and will aim to increase the resilience and safety of European citizens in the event of all types of natural and man-made disasters
