Their inputs and insights have helped to design the technology that will allow us to upgrade the technology’s therapeutic possibilities and ensure its safe application. In the words of Stéphane Giaconia, Global Product Manager of Carl Zeiss Meditec AG, "There is no shadow of a doubt that radiance represents the future of intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT), helping healthcare providers to take healthcare to the next level. Using this new tool the radiation oncologist and the medical physicist can simulate and plan the necessary ionizing radiation doses to eradicate the tumor without harming surrounding healthy tissue ".
