Benito, CISO of GMV Secure e-Solutions, presented the new security awareness-raising strategy in the event organized by the Spanish Association of Information-Society and Telecommunications Users (Asociación Española de Usuarios de Telecomunicaciones y de la Sociedad de la Información: AUTELSI) under the title “Awareness-raising as the bedrock of information security”. People-centeredness, gamification, identification of the Hero figure as change driver, adaptation of the language to suit each particular group and the use of the new communication channels were the key features of his speech. The experience built up in terms of boosting our clients’ security awareness “ has led to a rethink of GMV’s own security awareness-raising strategy ”, he explained. The aim, at the end of the day, “ is to get across the idea that security is important not only for security professionals but also at personal level, approaching change as a fun event, like a game, employing tools like gamification. Because the best way of teaching children is by playing, and we can’t deny that we all retain something of the child within us. The game is the exception for bringing in change not the norm”, he concluded. Speakers at the event included the CISOs of Mediaset, Repsol and Renfe Operadora as well as the Institutional Relations Officer of the National Security Institute (Institute Nacional de Seguridad: INCIBE) and the President of AUTELSI’s Quality Group.
