GMV boots the confidence of its web portal
GMV has signed an agreement with CONFIANZA ONLINE under which it binds itself to abide by ethical rules of conduct. This boosts the confidence of all the internauts that browse or make economic transactions from its web portal, offering higher guarantees to network users and increasing public confidence in the new digital media.
CONFIANZA ONLINE is a non-profit-making organization born with the across-the-board aim of encouraging the secure, trouble-free use of internet and the new digital media. CONFIANZA ONLINE is the first self-regulation system to be recognized by the Spanish authorities, which has granted it the “Public Hallmark of Online Confidence” for its compliance with the requirements of Royal Decree (Real Decreto) 292/2004 of 20 February.
GMV will be entitled to sport a Seal of Confidence that identifies the adherent firms, showing its commitment to responsibility in the various services of the information society where the association is active: commercial communications, economic commerce/transactions with consumers and security in transactions; child welfare; accessibility/usability; data protection and privacy plus any other ad hoc agreement that might be reached.
GMV will also submit itself to the SELF-CONTROL publicity jury and the Consumer Arbitration Board to deal with any claims that might be lodged for alleged breach of the “Code of Ethics” in relation to publicity and e-procurement with consumers.
