GMV was chosen by Spain’s Foreign Trade Institute (Instituto de Comercio Exterior: ICEX) as one of the 4 firms to represent Spanish technology at the fair, which will bring together the world’s main manufacturers and institutions. The RSA Conference USA is held yearly in San Francisco, a few kilometers from Silicon Valley. This year’s conference attracted a turnout of 43,000. The world’s leading information-security stakeholders debated the latest cybersecurity trends and emerging technologies, sharing the best strategies to cope with today’s and tomorrow’s threats. The event also ran an exhibition area where 550 companies and organizations offered a comprehensive educative and awareness-raising program with speeches, chats, panel discussions, tutorials and keynotes by international experts. As a national cybersecurity-technology leader, GMV was one of the 4 firms chosen by ICEX España Exportaciones e Inversiones to form part of the Spain Space (Espacio España), a stand pooling Spain’s participation at the fair. During the exhibition days Juan Antonio Abánades, Head of the Cybersecurity Technology Section, and Jonás Porcar, Business Development Manager North America, offered stand visitors a complete run-through of GMV’s cyberthreat solutions. In the words of Jonás Porcar: “The cybersecurity industry is coming to boiling point worldwide with a dizzying growth and innovation rate. GMV’s participation in RSA allows us to chat face-to-face not only with the world’s main manufacturers but also the most groundbreaking start-ups, to find out at first hand the most innovative technologies and phase them into our range as integrator.” Juan Antonio Abánades, for his part, pointed out that “the star themes in this year’s conference have been application of artificial-intelligence and machine-learning technologies in the detection of threats and intrusions, the new-generation endpoint protection systems and security-hardening of the Internet of Things and its relation with aspects of industrial cybersecurity”. As well as the conference, GMV participated in the networking event for Spanish firms organized by the California-Spain Chamber of Commerce and ICEX. The panel discussion tackled the different approaches to the Spanish and American cybersecurity markets.
