The event, held from 20 to 22 March in the city of Munich, Germany, brought together experts, industry leaders, researchers and academics from all over the world. This year's edition, under the motto "GNSS meets friends in new orbits - potentials and synergies!", covered topics such as the first and second generation of the European Satellite Navigation System Galileo, as well as on the status and modernization of the Global Positioning System (GPS) of the United States and China's BeiDou System or other regional navigation systems. In addition, the potential role of satellites in LEO for improving GNSS signal integrity at the Earth's surface was discussed, and the challenges and opportunities of the emerging space economy in the commercial satellite navigation arena were explored. The conference featured a series of presentations and sessions given by industry experts including GMV as one of the world leaders in global navigation satellite systems (GNSS). Victor Pozo, Director of GMV's Satellite Navigation Systems Ground Control Segment, took part in the panel session "Operations of MEO-GNSS and PNT services from LEO constellations", in which speakers talked about the current and future challenges facing navigation due to emerging applications, such as the need for high precision and robust services. In his turn, Victor Pozo, spoke about the operational challenges posed by the new mega constellations, the introduction of future new navigation services thanks to LEO constellations, the new technological challenges facing the space sector and how to integrate a System of Systems within the world of Navigation.Simón Cancela, head of GMV's Advanced Navigation Services Section, was also on the panel of the session "Galileo new services and differentiators", where participants discussed such topics as the introduction of Galileo's Public Regulated Service (PRS), Galileo's High Accuracy Service (HAS), Galileo Authentication Services for civilian users, Early Warning services and the maritime Safety-of-Life service. During his speech Simón Cancela stressed GMV's role in the development of Galileo's new services related to precise positioning and authentication of GNSS signals and their implementation at user level and the new opportunities they open up for the future of navigation services.Attendees also had the chance to get a first-hand look at GMV's latest products and services in the field of satellite navigation thanks to the company's stand at the event.
