This award recognizes the University of Cartagena Medicine School’s support for and adoption of scientific and ICT breakthroughs applied to healthcare. The telemedicine research group of the University of Cartagena, led by doctor Fredy Pomares Herrera, aims to bring specialist medical attention to far-flung areas of Bolívar. GMV’s antari platform has proved it to be possible for a patient in an out-of-the-way area or a prison to be attended by a specialist doctor without moving from their homes or the prison. GMV has a wealth of specialist experience in setting up solutions based on advanced and groundbreaking technology. One of the prime examples is its e-Health platform antari, which seamlessly blends conventional medical practices with telemedicine. Remote diagnoses can be carried out by sharing and managing clinical information in a swift and intuitive way while retaining the principal working methods of conventional medicine. Together with EVER SALUD, GMV has also recently set up the Kids Care in-school telemedicine pediatrics network for both primary and secondary schools.The handing over of the plaque by Luis Fernando Álvarez-Gascón, General Manager of GMV Secure e-Solutions, to Dr. Fredy Pomares, representing the University of Cartagena, in the presence of Carlos Royo, Head of GMV’s Healthcare Business Development, Luciano Saez, President of SEIS (Spanish Health IT Society) and Carlos Alvarez, honorary president of Fundación Mapfre.
