Senior Economy 2022

According to the European Commission, 45% of the continent’s population will be over 50 years of age by 2025. Citing  increased life expectancy and the inverted population pyramid, it expects this trend to be similar in all developed countries worldwide. As a result, the older demographic will be one of the driving forces of consumption, demanding products and services in a wide range of areas.

At Senior Economy 2022, an event put on by the Social Innovation and Depopulation Office at Malaga Provincial Council, Carlos Royo, GMV’s Health Strategy Director, will take part in the panel discussion “Business opportunities in the Senior Economy,” sharing GMV’s proposal for ubiquitous healthcare using its Antari solution, as well as the use case in which it was applied to the care of frail people under the FACET project.

He will also give a brief overview of the company’s commitment to attracting senior talent, one of the pillars of its BeYou Plan, which aims to promote equal opportunities and prevent any discriminatory conduct within the organization. One of the five pillars of the plan is the Generational pillar, which prioritizes the value of people regardless of age. It is no coincidence, then, that the company has hired over thirty professionals over the age of 50 in the last two years alone.
