Raúl Herbosa earned a degree in Computer Engineering from Madrid Polytechnic University in 1988, and a degree in Advanced Computer Engineering from Spain’s National Remote Education University (UNED) in 2007. He also holds CISA and CRISC certifications (2000) and is currently a platinum member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).
He first joined GMV in April 1991 as a project engineer for graphic user interfaces, before being appointed as a control supervisor for the Columbus project in the Software Engineering division. He later participated in the same division’s remote networks management project for Motorola equipment.
In 1996, he became Manager of the IT department at GMV, which later evolved into the current Digital Strategy & Business area. His duties have included defining the corporate IT strategy and developing and implementing new technologies in accordance with the group’s business needs.
At the end of 2021 he was appointed as the Corporate Information Security Director, with responsibility for defining, coordinating, and managing GMV’s corporate security policy and strategy for non‑classified information, also providing leadership to ensure that these are implemented throughout the organization.
