Luis Fernando Álvarez Gascón, AMETIC’s new Innovation Vice-president

The General Assembly of the Spanish Association of ICT Companies (Asociación de Empresas de Electrónica, Tecnologías de la Información, Telecomunicaciones y Contenidos Digitales: AMETIC) has renewed its Governing Board. Pedro Mier has been appointed as the new President, replacing José Manuel de Riva who had held this post since December 2012.

For his part, Luis Fernando Álvarez-Gascón, CEO of GMV Secure e-Solutions, has been appointed AMETIC’s new Innovation Vice-president. Formerly, he was the association’s R&D President.

Álvarez-Gascón thus adds this new post to the ones he already holds as CEO of GMV’S ICT subsidiary,  Vice President of the R&D Committee of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), Vice-president of the think tank of the Innovating Companies Forum (Foro de Empresas Innovadoras), President of the Information Systems Governance European Club, member of HITEC España and a recently appointed member of the Scientific and Technical Committee of the State Research Agency (Agencia Estatal de Investigación).

AMETIC’s new president has placed special stress on the “commitment to work in the benefit of the whole sector with the priority remit of supporting the development of digital technologies in Spain, not only on the demand side, such as market development and growth, but also on the supply side with the development of products and services made and designed in Spain and its international competitiveness”.
