As in every previous year, GMV was one of the attendees. This is the world’s best showcase for the leading satellite-telecommunication firms’ most groundbreaking proposals and projects. It is the ideal venue for networking and developing ideas about the future of satellite telecommunications. GMV ran a spacious stand (2119) to display its complete range of earth-segment products and perform demos. The roster of products and services on show included the monitoring and control system, hifly®, the ground-station monitoring product, magnet, as well as the orbit-control product line focussuite (autofocus, focusgeo, among others), for determining satellite position and orientation. Last but not least, the smartsuite product range for payload-management, -reconfiguration and -optimization. The Walter E. Washington Convention Center also received proposals from over 150 countries of the communication-satellite sector. Carlos Espinos (CEO, Hispasat), Gwynne Shotwell (SpaceX), Rodolphe Belmer (CEO, Eutelsat) were some of the speakers who took part in the 80 lectures of the thirty-sixth Satellite week.
