19th Spanish Intelligent Transportation Systems Congress

GMV is sponsoring the latest Spanish Intelligent Transportation Systems Congress (Congreso Español sobre Sistemas Inteligentes de Transporte: ITS España), to be held in Madrid from April 1st to 3rd.

ITS España is a non-profit organization founded in 2002 with the aim of bringing together the public, private and academic ITS sector to make the moving of people and freight safer and more sustainable, using the various means of transport.

The main themes to be dealt with in this year’s congress include the rapid evolution of cooperative systems, the increasing takeup of autonomous driving, the growing use of Big Data, the ongoing improvement of public-transport information systems, the ITS contribution to Smart Cities and Mobility as a Service (MaaS) initiatives.

As well as sponsoring the event GMV is also playing an upfront role in various sessions:

- ITS for Public Transport: in which, jointly with TMB, GMV will be speaking about accessibility during the bus’s approach to the bus-stop.

- Connected Vehicle: in which GMV’s exposition will center on its participation in C-ROADS, a joint initiative of EU member states and road operators for checking and deploying interoperable and harmonized Cooperative Intelligent Transportation Systems (C-ITS) throughout the whole European Union.

- EMV technology in public transport: in which GMV will be dealing with the state-of-the-art ITSs set up in the public transport system of the Balearic Isles.

- In-vehicle ITS: in which GMV will be offering its vision on the necessary tools for working towards more efficient driving.
