Luis Fernando Álvarez-Gascón
Secure e-Solutions General Manager
Luis Fernando Álvarez-Gascón is a senior aeronautical engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (1987), and he completed postgraduate studies in Business Administration at the Instituto de Empresa (Executive MBA) and at IESE (PDG).
He joined GMV in 1986, working as a project engineer and project manager, conducting technical activities in areas such as systems engineering, systems simulation and satellite navigation. Later, he reoriented his career toward the sales and marketing area, increasing his responsibilities until he was appointed GMV Strategic Marketing Manager. In 2001, he became the GMV Secure e-Solutions General Manager, leading the secure solutions business internationally for large telecommunications companies, banks and insurance companies, public administrations, healthcare, industry and other sectors.
He has worked intensively in a number of professional associations: currently, he is Vice Chairman of AMETIC (Association of Electronics, Information Technology, Telecommunications and Digital Content Companies) and Vice Chairman of the R&D+i Commission for the Spanish Employers’ Confederation (CEOE), Chairman of the Information Systems Governance European Club, member of HITEC España and one of the 12 members of the State Research Agency’s Scientific and Technical Committee. In the past, he was Secretary of Proespacio (Spanish Association of Space Sector Industries) and a member of the Executive Board of the Circle of Technologies for Defense and Security.
