GMV at the 28th Telecommunications Encounter
The 28th Telecommunications and Digital Economy Encounter (Encuentro de la Telecomunicaciones y Economía Digital), organized by the Spanish Association of Electronics, Digital Contents and ICT Companies (Asociación de Empresas de Electrónica, Tecnologías de la Información, Telecomunicaciones y Contenidos Digitales: AMETIC) and Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP), was held from 2 to 4 September.
Santander, as usual, was the chosen venue for bringing together the outstanding professionals and companies of the national technological panorama to debate and discuss the current state of the ICT sector and the future challenges it faces.
GMV has once more taken part in this encounter. Luis Fernando Álvarez-Gascón, General Manager of GMV Secure e Solutions, gave a paper called “Sustainable Healthcare: the Digital Key”. His speech gave a clear snapshot of the current state of the National Health System and, more importantly, a mid- and long-term view of how information technologies have modified healthcare systems, what they can provide at present and how they will alter health systems in the future. This proved to be an interesting account of how technology might steer the system towards a more sustainable model, in the widest sense of the word. This burning issue, dealt with by no other company at this encounter, awakened keen interest and participation among those present.
