GMV cosponsors the Catalan Mobility Day AMTU

The eleventh Jornada AMTU (Conference of the Association of Municipalities for Mobility and Urban Transport), the Catalan Mobility Day, was held on 5 May. After more than a decade this get-together has become a must for all Catalunya’s mobility stakeholders: experts, councilors, consultants and mobility operators.

The Day aims to offer a forum for swapping notes and comparing best practices in mobility management while also looking at the latest technological breakthroughs, new management models or programs that might be a help in this field.

During the conference there was an ongoing debate on the present and future of public transport, showcasing Europe’s electric bus experience in Braunschweig, Germany, giving the public and private operators’ view of this technology.

Another of the keynote themes was the application and management of Open Data in mobility, paying special attention to the nature of the openly accessible data to gauge how it might be combined with other sources, generating large volumes of data. The conference also analyzed how public transport agencies harness their ecosystems to improve passenger experience.

GMV’s sponsorship of the Catalan Mobility Day helps it to forge even closer bonds with mobility and public transport systems in Catalunya, a field in which it has been working for over 15 years with international benchmark clients like the ATMs (Territorial Mobility Authority) of Barcelona, Girona and Tarragona, the Barcelona Metropolitan Transport Authority (TMB) or the City Council of Barcelona itself. It has also participated in other mobility areas in the whole Catalan territory, such as Sabadell, Tarrasa, Manresa.
