GMV invited to Ciência’17 - Meeting with Science and Technology in Portugal
GMV was one of the invited companies of encontro Ciência’17, an annual meeting of the Portuguese science and technology community.
The meeting, which celebrated the 50th anniversary of the creation of JNICT and the 20th anniversary of FCT, promoted an open debate on the main subjects and challenges driving the work of the Portuguese scientific community. Ciência 2017 brings together researchers and invited guests from all sectors of society. In 2017 the invited country was India.
In the context of the National Strategy for Space 2030 discussion, Teresa Ferreira, Director of Space in GMV Portugal, highlighted “the importance of raising the technology maturity level within the national industry” in the session “Portugal Space 2030: Satellites, Antennas and Launchers”. “It is also very important to reinforce and to foster international cooperation”, Teresa said.
Ciência 2017 is an annual meeting supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education, and is organized by Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia in collaboration with Ciência Viva - Agência Nacional para a Cultura Científica, and the Education and Science Parliament Committee.
The meeting program was designed in collaboration with the scientific community and included plenary sessions, presentations, debates, poster sessions and several demonstrations.
