GMV shows at Inforsalud how to guarantee a healthy lifestyle and promote well-being at all ages #SDG3

GMV at inforsalud seeks to guarantee a healthy lifestyle and promote well-being at all ages #SDG3

At the 23rd National Healthcare IT Congress ( XXIII Congreso de Informática de la Salud) held in Madrid, the Fundación EHAS and GMV have presented the telemedicine project Río Napo, which responds to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 3: Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages. The company also ran a stand to display its range of digital health projects and answer questions about its products and services.

The Napo project brings specialist medicine within the reach of people living in the furthest-flung parts of Peru’s Amazon area, thanks to the work of Fundación EHAS and GMV’s technology. This project is really coming into its own in maternity care. Notably, the maternal mortality rate (i.e., the ratio of mothers that do not survive childbirth against those that do), in developing regions is still fourteen times higher than in developed parts of the world.

Fundación EHAS is a foundation dedicated to research for development. Among its objectives feature improvement of the public healthcare system in rural areas of developing countries, drawing on information and communication technology. GMV has joined in this endeavor, bringing to the RioNapo project its telemedicine platform Antari HomeCare.

The NAPO project is being supported by the Spanish Embassy in Peru, The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo: AECID), the Latin American Development Bank, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and the Regional Authority of Madrid.
