On 17 May Madrid hosted the Python Meetup under the slogan “Big Data in Paradigma Digital”. At the meeting GMV’s José Carlos Baquero, Head of the Software Engineering and Development Division at GMV Secure e-Solutions, and the experts Pablo González, Data Scientist, and Jorge Redondo, Data Engineer, presented Apache Flink. The meeting attracted a healthy turnout and produced some really interesting papers on Kafka and Redis.

These frameworks presented in Paradigma Digital’s May meeting are the solution to many of our problems and also the best preparation for the future of Big Data. At the moment, for example, there is a host of sensors generating real time information on a city’s various activities: traffic, weather, incidents. Intelligent, real-time analysis of all this information would improve any city’s organization, making it more sustainable and citizen-friendly. Apache Flink makes it possible to carry out this analysis in a simple and effective way without forfeiting processing speed and capacity.
