From September 10-12, Spain’s public exporting and foreign investment company (ICEX), Spain's National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE), and the Economic and Trade Office of Spain in Washington organized a direct trade mission to the U.S. East Coast for Spanish cybersecurity firms.

GMV, a leader in cybersecurity, took part in the mission to showcase its capabilities to potential clients and explore opportunities in the U.S. market, which represents nearly one-third of the global market in this field.

During the mission, Luis Fernando Álvarez-Gascón, general manager of GMV’s Secure e-Solutions, and Jonás Porcar, North America director of GMV's Secure e-Solutions, took part in informational and networking sessions. These sessions covered regional market niches, business opportunities with multilateral organizations, as well as current cybersecurity and data protection regulations and standards. The sessions were held at the Spanish Embassy in Washington and the World Bank, featuring key federal institutions such as the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), along with multilateral organizations like the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and industry leaders like MITRE, known for developing the ATT&CK framework.

As part of the mission, GMV also visited two of the leading U.S. states in cybersecurity: In Maryland and Virginia, meeting with specialized agencies and institutions focused on incubating and partnering with companies looking to drive their growth in the U.S. market.

In the words of Jonás Porcar: “This mission strengthens GMV’s commitment to expanding its presence in the competitive North American markets and among multilateral institutions, highlighting our unique offerings and high standards of quality.”
