MY VISION 360, ophthalmology telemedicine
GMV, in collaboration with e-Health Vision and the Orduna clinic, has launched My Vision 360, a groundbreaking ophthalmology e-Health solution. My Vision 360 is in fact the first ever tele-ophthalmology platform, blending conventional practice with remote ophthalmological examination, incorporating tests and images on a multi-vendor basis catering for all makes of instrument.
The demand for top-quality health services, soaring healthcare costs, decentralization requirements and the dearth of both economic and human healthcare resources all make it increasingly necessary to set up a new and effective e-health system, and the application of ICTs now comes across as a real option for meeting this sterling challenge.
GMV’s antari suite of eHealth products comes up with a wide range of solutions to these problems, combining on-the-spot medical practice with telemedicine. Hard on the heels of the launch of the primary care telemedicine platform antari Primary Care, antari is now being applied to ophthalmology and eye health. The My Vision 360 service offers each opticians a teleconference kit so that the optician or the optometrist can now contact an ophthalmologist at will.
Although My Vision 360 comes under the umbrella of teleconsultation systems it offers a particular and complete range of services for facilitating and improving the ophthalmological diagnosis, such as sharing the documents, presentations, desktops or images of any of the optician’s instruments with the rest of the group. It is, for example, the first system able to make real time notes on the basis of shared images.
From the medical professional’s point of view My Vision 360 offers advantages such as synchronized device interconnection or the possibility of making real time notes on shared documents, improving the decision-making processes and medical diagnoses of eye pathologies. From the patient’s point of view My Vision 360 offers a wide range of ophthalmology centers, allowing many medical tests to be carried out more conveniently from the nearest opticians, drastically cutting down waiting times.
“The irruption of telemedicine in the ophthalmology world is a clear sign of how the inroads being made by ICTs in the healthcare environment are transforming and improving today’s health systems. The joined forces of GMV, e-Health Vision and the Orduna clinic have given rise to a robust and trailblazing tele-ophthalmology service, already up-and-running in the clinics of Spain,” concludes Carlos Royo Sánchez, GMV’s Manager of Healthcare Business Development.
