GMV speaks about Healthcare Sustainability, ICT and Innovation
GMV, represented by Carlos Royo, GMV’s Healthcare Business Development Manager, participated in the Healthcare Sustainability, ICT and Innovation Conference organized by the Forum of Innovating Firms (Foro de Empresas Innovadoras: FEI). Francisco Marín, Director General of Spain’s Industrial Technology Development Center (Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico Industrial: CDTI), and José Molero, FEI President, inaugurated the event in which Carmen Vela, Secretary of State for Research, Development and Innovation, presented a paper on Spain’s Biotech Innovation model.
The conference’s closing speech was given by Luis Fernando Álvarez-Gascón, FEI Vice President and General Manager of GMV Secure e-Solutions, who stressed “the need of placing innovation on our society’s agenda, making sure that all economic stakeholders take it fully onboard as a crucial instrument for forging bonds and like minds between the various institutions”.
He also referred to the ever-changing circumstances of today’s economy and the overhaul of our industrial fabric in the midst of this 4th industrial revolution. “A lot is at stake at the moment,” he argued, “the prosperity of our society itself”. Another of his key points was that healthcare meets the first need of our society, and healthcare investment accounts for 1% of GNP”. It is therefore necessary “to guide and lever the change process by means above all of ICTs”. This transformation will generate many multiplier effects, including “quality jobs”.
