GMV supplies Seville Metro’s new video-surveillance system

Metro Sevilla

GMV has won the tender for supply of an onboard video-surveillance system for Seville Metro’s 21-train fleet.

This project entails a renewal of the operator’s current video surveillance system. GMV will be supplying new digital equipment including network electronics for rollout of a multiservice Ethernet, digital video recording equipment, video coders for digitalization of the existing camera’s analog signal, IP screens for the driver interface and antennas for Wi-Fi/4G communications with the control center.

The purpose of GMV’s new solution will be to boost security by means of internal onboard surveillance of passenger spaces and the nearby vicinity outside the bus. This will involve carrying out such functions as recording the video signal of all the train’s cameras, wireless downloading of all these signals to the control center, cabin display of camera images and video analysis in the control center.

This project cements GMV’s position as a leading supplier of onboard video-surveillance solutions in intelligent transportation systems in 2019, after also winning notable contracts for other national railway operators such as Metro de Barcelona (TMB), Euskotren and FGV or road transport operators such as Consorcio de Transportes de Mallorca, involving the supply of a complete CCTV system for the Balearic Islands’ whole 611-bus fleet.
