GMV presents the latest advances in space engineering systems at DASIA

During the last three days of May the city of Oxford hosted the 29th International Space System Engineering Conference DASIA (DAta Systems In Aerospace). This yearly event brings together the sector’s top stakeholders, including companies, institutions, universities and space agencies.

EUROSPACE, the not-for-profit trade association of the European Space Industry, is behind the organization of this event. This association, of which GMV is a member, was originally set up back in 1961; in 2004 it became the Space Group of ASD (AeroSpace and Defence industries Association of Europe), representing the professionals of Europe’s space-systems manufacturing industry.

At this year’s DASIA GMV showcased the AMASS project (Architecture-driven, Multi-concern and Seamless Assurance and Certification of Cyber-Physical Systems), which sets out to create Europe’s first ever platform to improve the interoperability of onboard software systems; it is trying to unify methodologies across the board, thereby guaranteeing certification of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS). It additionally takes in a wide range of domains besides the space sector, such as automation and industrial control systems, autonomous vehicles, the railway sector, avionics and air traffic.

AMASS, an H2020-ECSEL project, is the result of the joint work of a consortium of 29 European partners, including GMV, which is leading the Space Case Study “Design and safety assessment of on-board software applications in Space Systems”.
