Lecciones aprendidas en Ciberseguridad Industrial para garantizar la continuidad de la industria

For its tenth anniversary, the Industrial Cybersecurity Center held a meeting under the topic “A decade of experiences in Industrial Cybersecurity,” bringing together some of the most relevant actors in the Industrial Cybersecurity sector and who have been of great support to the Center over the last 10 years of activity.

Javier Hidalgo, Solutions Architect and Cybersecurity Expert in GMV's Industry Sector, was one of the leaders of the agenda with a talk entitled "Cybersecurity in Industrial Environments: Lessons Learned.” In his talk he explained the processes and aspects to be taken into account when developing a cybersecurity policy: situation analysis, establishing objectives, analysis of existing controls versus necessary controls, establishing a security context for the business, establishing a Risk Management Plan, implementation of the plan, measuring results, etc. In his presentation, he highlighted both the theoretical aspects to be considered when facing industrial cybersecurity projects and the real experiences encountered when undertaking these projects, comparing both scenarios to determine the consequences of them.

Among his conclusions, he highlighted the importance of having a plan, understanding the context, understanding the risks, establishing controls, checking the security status and encouraging continuous improvement.

A lot of talent was brought together and experiences were shared with old and new friends in Industrial Cybersecurity over the course of two days. The present and future of Cybersecurity in Industrial Digitalization was also discussed.
