From space to sea
Together with more than 15 companies from the European space industry, GMV participated in the 42nd Ariane’s Cup in Greece from 7 to 11 October. Ariane’s Cup is the most popular regatta in the space industry, with more than 40 years of history, and is held every year at different locations to bring together companies in the industry in an environment unlike those in which they usually interact.
The regatta started at the Athens port of Lavrio. From there, 600 competitors aboard 70 sailboats raced for three days across the Aegean Sea, around the island of Makronisos and to Cape Sunion. The eight crew members of the GMV team embodied the values of teamwork and camaraderie, putting into practice the communication and rapport required in a competition of this nature.
This event is organized by OSCAR, an association of sailing enthusiasts at Arianespace. Year after year, the regatta acts as a catalyst for strengthening relationships within the space industry and as a meeting place for competitors to get to know each other outside of work.
GMV’s participation is part of its Wellbeing program, which aims to promote physical and other forms of wellbeing through initiatives that foster team culture and cohesion.
