GMV presents its autonomous and sustainable mobility solution for last-mile delivery at ROSCon Spain

GMV presenta en ROSCon España la solución de movilidad autónoma y sostenible para el reparto de última milla

GMV was an active participant at ROSCon Spain 2024, held this year at the Pablo de Olavide University in Seville. This conference is part of an international series organized by the Open Source Robotics Foundation (OSRF). It brings together Robot Operating System (ROS) developers and experts around this global standard for robotics software development.

Rafael Uceda, a robotics and automation engineer at GMV, presented Scoobic MED: 5G Autonomous Electric Vehicle Logistics in intelligent pay-per-use mode, a project being developed in collaboration with Passion Motorbike Factory-Scoobic. This project is on track to become a revolutionary solution to the challenges of last-mile delivery in urban environments, addressing critical issues such as traffic congestion, environmental impact, and the growing demand for fast deliveries.

Scoobic MED is designed to automate delivery in cities using advanced technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, and an integrated management platform called uPathWay. These innovations enable efficient fleet management and a flexible pay-per-use business model, while ensuring robust cybersecurity from the outset.

The project is funded by the Spanish Ministry for Digital Transformation and Civil Service through the UNICO SECTORIAL 5G 2022 program, as part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan. It is characterized by its focus on sustainability and energy efficiency, laying the foundations for a future in which autonomous mobility will transform urban logistics. With this presentation, GMV reaffirmed its leadership in the development of disruptive technologies for smarter and more sustainable mobility.
