GMV participates in a discussion on AI, hyperautomation, and other enabling technologies for the decarbonization of industry

On 13 March, GMV participated in a breakfast discussion organized by the Plataforma enerTIC in Madrid, focusing on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI), hyperautomation, and other enabling technologies in bringing about a cleaner and more efficient industry. During the event, Javier García, GMV’s Business Development Manager, shared key experiences regarding the crucial role of digitalization and automation in cutting carbon emissions in the industrial sector.
The discussion brought together experts from industrial and technological sectors and representatives of companies such as Ahorramas, Heineken, Urbaser, GLS, Defta, Grupo Gransolar, TKE, and Navantia, who addressed the challenges of decarbonization within the framework of European regulations. Participants emphasized the importance of emissions traceability and certification as key tools for compliance with strict regulatory requirements.
One of the highlights was the discussion on how AI and hyperautomation are optimizing industrial processes, such as real-time energy management and carbon footprint reduction. Javier García shared examples of how GMV is helping improve energy efficiency in key industry sectors, with a particular focus on the use of autonomous robots and electric vehicles to automate tasks and processes.
There was also a conversation about the need to adapt industry to new regulations and regulatory uncertainty, especially in sectors with global supply chains such as automotive and shipbuilding. Digitalization is emerging as an essential ally in terms of reducing operating costs and ensuring competitiveness without compromising sustainability.
The event also highlighted the importance of specialized training and education in digital technologies, which is key to meeting the challenges of digital transformation and automation in industry. Ultimately, participants agreed on the need to strengthen partnerships and continue exploring new technology solutions to make industry more sustainable and efficient.
The event helped to further joint reflections on how to effectively integrate emerging technologies for a cleaner industrial future.
