As part of their week-long Madrid study visit a group of 27 students from one of Germany’s flagship research centers, the University of Mannheim, visited GMV’s head office on 25 April 2017.

This initiative, which included visits to various companies and institutions, forms part of the ENTER (European Network for Training in Economic Research) program, an alliance between eight leading European university economic departments to promote the international competitiveness of their students in the research sector. The participating universities come from Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands, France, Belgium and the UK.

The students were welcomed and received by Mónica Martínez (GMV President) who gave them an overview of GMV’s business lines. Next came the turn of Rafael Navajo Garrido, GMV’s healthcare business development manager, to focus on the company’s healthcare business, explaining the latest market trends and GMV’s main business developments in this line.

Miguel Ángel Molina Cobos (Programs and Business Development Manager – Aerospace) then took up the baton to open the doors of the Eutelsat Room and show the work carried out for this organization’s satellite-control center.

The last of the speakers was Giovanni Binet (Business Development Manager Space Segment and Robotics – Aerospace), who showed the visiting students GMV’s very own Martian corner. This Martian terrarium then staged a demo of the Foxiris robot, specially designed to minimize human exposure to potentially hazardous situations.

The visit wound up with questions from the floor, the 4 host speakers clearing up the guests’ doubts and queries.
