GMV is developing the space industry staff in Poland

Development of the space industry staff

The Polish Space Industry Association (ZPSK) was founded in 2012 with a clear aim in view: to win Poland’s space industry pole position within the European market, while also helping to build up a space policy at national level alongside the Polish Space Agency and other representative state institutions. Among the association’s 50 members, most notably private companies and research institutes, features GMV.

As part of its ongoing commitment to the country’s space sector, ZPSK runs an internship program, "Development of the space industry staff", an initiative promoted by Poland’s Industrial Development Agency Joint Stock Company (Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu S.A: ARP), set up to provide companies with financial support and advisory services to strengthen the country’s entrepreneurial fabric.

This year’s internship call, the second of its type, attracted a response from over 100 university graduates. GMV, a member of ZPSK since 2012, is participating in this initiative by taking in one of the 12 applicants chosen to enter Poland’s most important space-technology companies. Thanks to these internships, granted under the aegis of the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, these young students will be able to build up career experience, expertise and skills in a real working environment.

Anna Mizerska is the candidate chosen to join the GMV team in Poland. A graduate from Warsaw University of Technology, during this half-year internship she will work in the EarthCARE project.

The aim of these internships is to educate the space industry staff, to develop the careers of young researchers and to support the transfer of knowledge between universities and space industry companies.
