ASTRA is unique in that it offers a platform for agencies, industry, and European academics in the field of space robotics to meet and interact, showcasing the full range of research and development activities in this field. ASTRA will focus on providing an overview of the technologies/missions that are available or being developed in ESA Member States or as part of international partnerships, but it strongly encourages other international contributions whenever possible. GMV will present several technical articles, namely, on 18 October, Ground Validation Testing Of A Re-Locatable Manipulator For On-Orbit Assembly, presented by Joaquín Estremera; RAPID: A Robust and (Semi) Autonomous Platform for Increased Distances by Jorge Ocón; Vision-Based Localization for the MSR Sample Transfer Arm, by Marcos Avilés, and CISRU: a robotics software suite to enable complex rover-rover and astronaut-rover interaction, by Cristina Luna. On 19 October, it will present AI-enabled Computer Vision Framework for Automated Knowledge Extraction in Planetary Rover Operations, by Steven Kay, and on 20 October, European Moon Rover System: a modular multipurpose rover for future complex lunar missions, by Cristina Luna. Furthermore, on 20 October GMV will be participating in the In-Orbit Servicing and Construction Workshop. The goal of the workshop is to draft a technical document that will become the roadmap for developing the ESA’s cross-cutting technological initiative on in-orbit maintenance and construction.
